Vocational services at John F. Murphy Homes, Inc. are community based
employment services with focus on individualized placements using interests and
choices as the framework for placement. Currently there are several in house
work programs, i.e. Earnable Returnables Bottle Redemption and a woodworking
program that allows individuals to earn pay through piecework. Additional
worksites have been developed in the community as a delivery service and
working at Great Northern Recycling. The work service program is funded through
Voc Rehab and Medicaid Waiver funds. An Employment Specialist and several job
coaches currently staff the program. Programs offered by the work services are:
- Situational assessments, both in house
and community based
- Career development and exploration
- Community based work adjustment training
- Job development · Transitional
employment
- Supported employment
- Transition planning and training
- Community resources
- Natural supports developer
Work services seeks to provide all of
these components in a person-centered environment. Satisfaction will be
continually monitored to insure our level of service. We will over the next 12
months be working on our CARF accreditation. This will further enhance our
services to the individuals in the program. |
